A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

My live in bf of two years has two children and he was recently told by his ex wife that if he moved closer she would give him 50/50 custody. He currently pays child support. I dont believe her. What has to be done before he can have 50/50 custody. What about the child support?

A female reader, Just4fun United States +, writes (8 June 2009):

If she is offering 50/50 then probably the only way he'll get it is to do what she says. Sounds like she wants to control him by using the kids. But in all fairness, most states won't do 50/50 if you live in seperate states or more than 75 miles apart. Each parent should be able to respond to their childs needs in the same amount of time for 50/50 in Ohio. That's what judge told my sister-in-law when she went for 50/50 and lost.

Good Luck
