I wonder what anybody else has to say about this.

I don't know what to do with the coincidences in my life, they are really powerfull. I'm not a religious person, but I can't avoid to see them and wonder ,what do they mean?

I can't see any meaning, but they happen all the time , also when I tell about them they can 't believe it.

so my question would be ,what do you think of coincidences in your life, and does it effects your thinking on any ways?

I don't say they are magical, but they make me wonder. Thanks for suggestions

Yes ,thanks,it sounds very intersting so far. I think, my coincidences are totally meaningless, and they are not like miracles. The miracle is that they are so frequent, that they can't be nothing. Or its , but they are very powerfull,. Maybe they are a reminder of something bigger..

Well, I experienced it today. I don’t know what you call it, but it gives me goose bumps, when what I think about comes true. I see coincidences as a desire for something, it may be sub conscious . For a while now I’ve wanted to give up working Fridays. You could say wishing that I would not have to ask my boss and upset how things are running because it would mean advertising for someone, interviewing ect for one day a week. So one day I said out loud, “I don’t care how long this takes but I don’t want to work Fridays, I want to take care of my family and their needs” .About a year later ,this morning in the bath I said to my husband “I really want to give up Fridays” .Then at work today the receptionist who use to work there walked in saying she had 2hrs to spare and thought she would pop in. Ha! Goose bumps!!!!! We chatted and she has decided to become a teacher’s assistant and is giving up child minding, but would only be working 16hrs a week. Gah!!! Can you imagine? I said” How would you like to work Fridays?” ........Well to cut a long conversation short, she seemed really keen.

What do you think a coincidence or did I make this happen?

So if she says no would that mean miracles don’t happen or would that be a message that I have to work Fridays or would it mean the time is not right for me to give up Fridays. I guess it would be like listening to that “little voice”, the gut feeling.

Oh noes! I'm reading the comments here and I'm... I'm, I'm... I'll... I have to behave.

[deep breath]

Okay, I have a question for OP: if you feel these coincidences is the act of a/the God (I capitalize "God" because it is a proper name), then how would you explain the massive brutality of the other acts of a/the God that happens to other people?

Please, to others who is considering arguing free will with me, don't argue free will with me because I can destroy your ideas on free will.

I know you did NOT specifically say "God", but that IS where you're going.

As for my own 'coincidences', I have had tons since I popped out of my mom 30 years ago. I believe in some form of creator, but not what any religious scripture claims. How do I deal with these 'coincidences'? I think about them for a moment, grin a bit and move on. It's like reading astrology. It's a form of entertainment with a science behind it. Whether the science is working theory or simply mumbo jumbo is up for interpretation by the individuals that adhere to such ideals.

Here, I'll even give you an example...

A few years ago, I was in my office. This was during the ending days of my company. I already lost a lot in terms of money and stability but I wasn't willing to let my last few properties go. I was cleaning my office, wiping down the shelves and rearranging stuff. I remember on one particular shelf, there was a statue of Guan Yin (Buddhist deity) and a statue of a Maneki Neko (fortune Cat from Japan) side by side. As I tried moving the shelf a bit, the Maneki Neko statue fell directly on my head and it broke into a million pieces. The Guan Yin statue was still up there as stable as ever. Right at that moment, that split moment, I 'woke-up' and that evening, I told my parents that I will sell my properties to try to lessen the losses.

Now, years later, my mom donated that Guan Yin statue to the Steveston Buddhist Temple. I was a bit sad to see it go, but they have more need for it than we would. It was a spiritual moment for me. Like a 'smack upside the head' by whatever 'God' or force of the universe. Like a wake-up call that I need to look out for my family first before my own ego.

To this day, I don't call the 'coincidence' an act of a/the God, but it is a spiritual moment. How is that spirituality defined? Why define it? It's is personal. Simple fact.

A reader, anonymous, writes (20 February 2009):

Ahhhh that's one of the best questions I have seen here,

but unfortunately I have to go for tennis lessons:

Quickly.

Coincidences are not existing (because they are not 'a Coincidence'.

These things that you consider are happening for a reason, like (almost) everything that is happening in your life has a reason. You should try to learn to understand why they are happening, what it's telling you and follow your intuition what to do.

It's not important if you are religious or not.

I think that you are a relative pure person.

I think that everybody has got a road (highway) and if you can follow the highway you could have such a beautiful life (for some more beautiful then the other but for this you can also find different explanations).

But unfortunately (like I did) many people take the junction, a subway, difficult roads even dangerous roads and if you are lucky you come back again on the (or another nice) highway. Taking the subway and finding the difficulties during your 'travel' can make you to a 'very experience person', but it could be so much easier.

For you, realize that you are lucky and follow your intuition with 'the directions' given to you.

You can always ask me a question if you have any.

My answer might sounds a little migrant for you, but if you can picture your life as a highway, it will be more easy to understand the decissions you have to make.

Have to goooooo

Good luck on your travel for life :):)

You can call them coincidences or destiny. Maybe someone is praying for you... I believe all paths lead to the true God.

23ConfusedOne23 agony auntI do that sometimes too. I see 23 everywhere and it's connected to a lot of things in my life. Some people say that it's just random information we focus on and then our mind wants to thing that it's something bigger then it seems and some people say they are signs or things that are meant to happen.

I wish i could help you with it but unfortunatly i don't think anyone truly knows.
