Take up some extra curricular activities that you will enjoy. Choose a few just to try out and see what you like and what you have time for. Smile lots as this makes you more aproachable to others. Watch your body language as well and avoid crossing your arms while talking to others as this makes you look defensive. See if there are any fund raising events taking place and take part. I'm sure other people will have more ideas for you.
