A female United States age 30-35, *ieceomind83 writes:

i am an 18 year old female and i am pretty much in love with my best friend. he is a year older than me and we have been good friends for about 2 years now. we speak everyday, see eachother almost every other day, and have also tried the whole "more than friends" bit. we were seeing eachother on and off for about 5 months, but this was almost 6 months ago but, 3 months ago one night we crossed that line again, nothing came from it. he explained that he felt as if we would be together forever and he isnt ready to feel settled in. we tell eachother i love you every single day (no exaggeration). my problem is that i dont want anyone but him. i know he wasnt using me at all because we didnt have a sexual relationship, we are both still virgins. i just dont understand what is so scary about finding someone you love at 18/19 years old. the way we are, i honestly feel as if im married to him, but im unhappy. what is going to happen when he is with someone and i have to sit back and watch, no girl in their right mind would be ok with our relationship especially with the fact that we used to b more than friends. i dont know what to do, i love him and i feel as long as hes in my life i always will. i spoke to him once about not being friends because its too hard for me and he literally showed up to my house crying (so we see how far i got with that one). i need to be with him, please help =(

give him time :)

hes probably just scared of how deep his feelings for you have become..some guys act really weird when they feel this way for a girl ..they dont know how to handle it.

its great u have found someone you love..ive been through this with my best friend..on and off- and things got very awkward to the point we didnt speak at all for a while. but now its only getting back to normal+ just shows a true friendship can stand all sorts :)
