Want a child and fiance has changed his mind!

My boyfriend and I have been dating off and on for approx. 4 years. I am 38 years old. He is 49 years old. From the beginning of the realtionship I told him I wanted one child. He agreed to this. We got pregant once- I miscarried. He has since changed his mind - says he is too old. Also says that we cannot handle a child financially. I have a rocky history with drug and alcohol abuse too. This is biggest reason I feel that I do not have a family at this point in my life. When most folks were meeting their spouses and having kids I was too busy destroying my life. Well, I have since gotten my life together. If you are wondering and you are, my clean time is 5 mths. I know it is a short amount of time. But the point is it is time and all I plan on doing is adding to it. I love this man dearly but am very confused about giving up my desire to have a child. He is not budging on his decision- and by the way He has a son from his second wife - he is 18 years old. Can I please get some suggestions? I have lost a lot of years and made a lot of bad decisions so I try and get all the help and advice I can get. And if you do give me feedback can I get some history on your life please?
