reader, anonymous, writes (9 July 2006): hey, this sounds exactly how me and my boyfriend where at first!! we were like this for months, we both knew we liked each other, but he was too scared to make a move incase i just wanted to remain friends. Just ask him (or kiss him!) how he feels and does he want to take your friendship further into a relationship. At least it'l put your mind at rest. Ask him in private, and to his face, you'll get a more honest answer off him, and it will be so much more personal. Good luck with everything, and i hope you two get together :)

 Maybe he's just shy. Or, maybe he likes you as a friend. And only a friend. He may have said he'll ask you out so he doesn't hurt your feelings.
Ask him again, but you ask him. Not a friend. Ask him how he feels about you. If he want to be a couple, or just friends. It will take courage, but it's the only way to find out.
If he doesn't feel the same, remember he's still an awesome friend, that you don't want to lose. Keep smiling!
