Sometimes he stares at me so much I want him to stop!

i recently met a really cute guy,but i'm not sure if he really likes me.when he first saw me he kept staring at me like mad,showed me to his friend and tried in differnt ways to stay as close as possible to me.a few days later he started a conversation with me on a very random topic.everytime i see him he stares so much and openly at me that i sometimes want to ask him to stop it.once i was searching for something when he went straight to me and asked me if he could help me.then i found out that he told someone i know as well(let's call her ''maya'')that i am very beautiful.the next day he saw me with a friend of mines and told ''maya'' that my friend is ugly and compared to her i'm as beautiful as an angel.what's going with him?does he really like me?my father knows him and told me he might like me to go out with him,or be his girlfriend and stuff like that,but idk.what do you think?please answer.
