I really want to but I'm scared I was engaged about 2 yrs ago and then my b/f turned violent. I'm scared it will happen again. I don't want to hurt him as I have realised just how much I love him.Please will someone help?

 I know it's hard to forget how someone treated you, especially when this was bad. But making your partner suffer because of something an ex or someone in your past did is not fair on either of you.
If you have doubts about getting engaged, then it probably would be best to wait a little while longer. When it feels right and you trust them completely, then is the time.
You seem to really love him and trust him so don't let the past ruin your future together. Forget the losers from the past! Enjoy the great guy you have now! Good luck :)
