So, I thought i'd get some real information from who'd know best, the parents! So please, if you have any tips on safety in play, play areas and ideas for play regarding the age, or just general whatever-ness about the subject it would be extremely appreciated, and could just prove helpful to the other parents on here :) Reply to this Article |

I just read your article and hope it's not too late for your assignment!
I have been a preschool teacher for the last 12 years. There are lots of do's and don'ts when it comes to child safety. The best thing to do to protect children from dangerous situations is to get down on all fours and scan the room at a three year olds eyelevel. all electrical outlets should be covered...no hanging curtain chords...no sharp edges on furniture....and so much more...here in the US we have state licensing booklets that cover everything! You may be able to go to your public library and find some books on child safety also!
Good Luck, the childcare industry has it's challenges but also can be very rewarding!
Good Luck!
