He seems to be putting pressure on you to go out with him by telling others that he likes you & that he's going to ask you out. But remember this you are under no obligation to go out with him just because he has declared he likes you to loads of people. You only go out with people whom you want to go out with & feel like it. You mentioned that you have known him for years but you're not sure whether you like him properly or not. So perhaps you should make it clear to yourself on this issue by getting to know him more. May be try going out for a coffee or something. The point is get to know him more & find out whether you like him just as friends or more than that. Once you know this then the decision will be easier.Good luck mate!
