Make sure they use hot wax and NOT strip wax (painfull and causes more ingrowing hair)
They will most probably give you a pair of disposable knickers to wear. You will be asked to pull one side at a time back, so that it sits in between your labia. The therapist will then wax that side as far down until in line with your vagina (same on the other side). She will only leave a small strip of hair, like a train track at the top in the middle of your pubic bone. All the other hair will be gone and you will have full view of your bits, without any hair. Good luck - I don't think it is that sore and it gets better the more often you have it done.

reader, anonymous, writes (18 November 2006): wear cotton panties, a pair you don't mind getting wax-goo on. take some motrin, no more than an hour before you're about to get waxed. go a reputable salon, none of those $5 specials. a good wax will cost you anywhere between $45 to $65 bucks, not including tip. and it helps if you continue going to the same specialist every three weeks for the first 6 months, until your .errr...follicles get with the program and refuse to grow as quickly.
