Its always a hard one, talk tp her first tell her how your feeling, especialy if you think he feels the same and that their is hope for a future. Explain that youve spoken to her before you did anything as you value your friendship, what your doing is really brave and caring, putting her feelings before your own. Im sure shell apreciate this and give you her blessing, however if not then maybe you should reconsider who your friends really are, be happy but not at too much of a cost.
You cant help who you fall for, its one of those things you have no control over, talk to her and then go for it with him. Best of luck

 you need to just tell her. as a friend she should understand. me and my best friend get into this all the time and we haven't ever had any major problems :]
if he ends up liking one of you, the other one needs to remember that they can't make someone like them.
