writes: Why is it that whenever my boyfriend and I are with his friends and they bring up someone he's had a past with my mood changes. It brings me down when I hear about them. Even if it doesn't have anything to do with when they were together. And whenever my boyfriend or someone talks about abortion, I think about when he got this one girl pregnant and she had to have one. I always think he's thinking about the girls in his past.

reader, anonymous, writes (10 November 2006): u feel like this bcuz u dont want to know abt ur boyfriends past..bcuz u are his present and hopefully his future..it makes u feel insecure because u want to be the only gurl in his life..and it hurts when u know hes been with others..i understand u...i think most girls feel like this..even guys do. firstly u must remember...that ur his present and his future...and hes with u..bcuz he loves u...fancies u...he spends time with u..and u only...if u really do feel upset..jus gently tell him...ask him hw important u are to himmm and ask him if he cud kinda divert the convo abt his past when his mates are bringin it up..dont worry chick..its normal..we all feel it..n its really annoying..good luck..friend x

 I think it's pretty normal and understandable that it bothers you especially considering they are talking about them in front of you which IMO is off-kiltered. Because all it is doing is making you feel hurt because you are going to try to compare yourself with these other girls. I deal with this too with my girlfriend.. Personally I know she's had a past, i just don't care to ever hear about it. but well that's just me.
