 There's really no leveling with or getting them to listen when the fight is over a silly guy. It will either break their friendship (happens quite a bit) or they will soon come to realize that their friendship is worth more than some stupid guy.
Let them hash it out, there's no need to put yourself in the middle of this war or play mediator. You tell them you're Switzerland and that you're going to stay out of it. And for them to let you know when this stupid fighting is over.
