A female reader, cupidhelper United States +, writes (24 September 2007):

I lost my virginity to someone I didn't care about when I was 18 becuase I was ready.

I was ready to use birth control, educated myself on disease, deal with an unplanned pregnancy, prevent an unplanned pregnancy, buy rubber in a crowded drug store, had my own apartment-- do you get how young you are!

If you don't like it, can you tell him to stop?

are you such a good judge of character, that you can pick a man who will stop? Cause I had too. we both flirted for 6 months, finally hooked, and I had to get him to stop because it was too painful-- not virginity that was 3 years earlier-- an undiagonsed ovarian cyst.

In fact, the pain is what made me go to the doctor. he said if we had kept going, it could have ruptured.

You're worried him being Owning you & your friend's first times and you're friends telling you to get it over:

this are not adult thoughts.

You own your first time. I didn't get it over with, I got it on. Do you even want to have sex? enjoy kissing for a few more years, because getting it over with will mess you up for decades.

Oh, in case you thing I'm too old to understand, all my friends were sexually active since they were 12-14. I was introduced as "the virgin."

rcn agony auntI would have to say NOOOO!!!!!!!!! He sounds like he would be one of those boys who gets you to like him until you're no longer a virgin, then he will no longer have anything to do with you.

Make your decision with a great amount of thought. I would wait to share it with someone who is special in your life. If you don't and you meet that special person, you'll regret not holding out until then.

A reader, anonymous, writes (23 September 2007):

No, don't 'go for it'. Some guys like to see how many cherries they can pop as if it's some kind of sport with a scoreboard. You'll just be another one on his.

Save it until you're 16 when you'll be a lot more mature than you are now. And it will be legal then too.

Go through previous posts on here and you'll get all the advice you need on this subject. Whether you take it is entirely up to you, but you'll ignore it at your own risk.
