reader, anonymous, writes (7 November 2006): if you are in an abusive realtionship then there are organisations that can help you get away. they can house you until you are ready to do it alone.
If its just courage you need, then you will have to find it in yourself. Just remember this you are strong and you can do anything you set your mind to, nobody deserves to be put through hell.

reader, anonymous, writes (7 November 2006): If you're not happy then why can't you leave. You are a free person. Don't let someone keep you as a prisoner, i speak from experience. It can happen overnight. You say it is a 'bad relationship', if that involves hitting, on either part, then leave today. Life is too short! Don't look for excuses to stay. If you are on your own then can you maybe stay with a relative or friend until you get a place of your own and back on your feet? If you have children then this is a different matter. Phone around Councils, Housing Associations etc and see how long there waiting lists are. Go to you doctors, point out how ill this is making you. Record it at the doctors, this can help you to get a place in the future. Also, if violence is involved then get in touch with the police, no messing. Don't put up with it. I wish you well.  How do you leave u ask? Pack your stuff, walk to the front door, hail for a taxi and off you go, never look back! I mean it literally is that simple! The only thing that makes it hard are the emotions involved with that person, which if you really think about it, isn't worth it cause hes/shes made you thought about leaving him/her in the first place! If you know you need and want out (although you just lack courage), take a deep breath, and just do it!! If he threatens you, call the coppers! Theres just no two ways about it. Hope youll be alright.
