Now listen, if you are hanging out with older people then of course all the folks around you are going to assume that you are older, even if you don't look it. And for all you know, people might just be saying that you look older just to be nice, and not really mean it. Believe me, older guys especially, KNOW that young girls take it as a huge compliment to be told they look or act older.
And the ONLY possible way that in 10 years time you'll look 40 is if you really go out of your way to not take care of yourself (drug habits, anorexia, stuff like that.) But if you stay in shape, stay out of the sun, drink lots of water, eat healthy, wear lots of moisturizer everyday, and above all BE HAPPY, then there is no possible way that you will look even a day older at 26 than you do now. Or even at 36.

People will not necessarily think that you look 40 when you are thirty.
People have always thought that I am older than I am but the disparity decreased as I got older. That is to say that when I was 17, people thought I was 22 but now that I am nearly 45, people think I am in the vicinity of that age, give or take a couple of years.
Do not describe yourself as having 'horrible distinct features'. Yikes!
Look at your friends. Do you judge them on their appearance? Could you be a friend to yourself and judge your character, and be thankful for your physical assets? Everyone has something: be honest and when you can identify what you like about your appearance, be thankful for it.
