writes:hello please help me, there is this boy at my school he is so nice, popular and always making everyone laugh, we get on so well and always joking. my best friend thinks that i should go out with him as he likes me as well but im always attacted to the boys that hurt me. she says he will treat me right and he is difernt. but the thing is im not attacted to his looks i think he is too skinny. is this somthing i would get over if we were to go out. im 16 and all my closest mates have boyfriends. i want a boyfriend and i could see this lasting but i dont know if the looks is to much of a problem. please help i know i must sound shalow but im really not im just confused. xxx

reader, anonymous, writes (15 February 2008): When you really like someone, it wont matter if they are fat or skinny. You obviously dont fancy him that much. It doesnt matter if his heart is gold or gold plated, that has nothing to do with it. You have to have the chemistry or forget it.

 Hi,
I believe you are being shallow by allowing his looks to put you off. However, shallow or not, if he doesn't "do it for you" in the looks stakes, then he is not right for you. You don't have to date him and you shouldn't feel bad about it as long as you keep it to yourself!
