A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I met my boyfriend of 2 and 1/2 years through my ex best friend. When my boyfriend and I got together my ex best friend seem pleased..when we became serious my ex bestfriend became distant and angry. My ex best friend and I had feelings for eachother for a while and for 3 years no matter who we were in a relationship with we always came back to eachother or just cheated with eachother. Even when he got engaged, he would spent more time at my house than any where else. He even told me that I could call his fiance and tell her it was over between them. Anyway I am madly in love with my my boyfriend but I really miss my best friend in my life. Is it a good idea to contact him and tell him I miss him or just let time help me to forget him.

I love my boyfriend and my best friend in completely different ways, although sex with my boyfriend is better....I don t beleive that I am with him out of lust. We are so much a like that its scary but I pick up where he lacks and visa versa. Every time i see even a picture of my best friend it drives me crazy with old memories. Last week I was invited to a party that I knew he would be attending and I was so excited even though we probably wouldn t have spoken to eachother....but my boyfriend got the days mixed up and we missed the party. I want my best friend back even if only as my best friend, I can live with that. But what if he has to be more then friends or nothing at all...what do I do then?
