The situation is ... I've lived with my nanna and grandad since I were young. They loved me as if I was their own and iI loved them like they were my parents.

My nan died a couple of years ago, but after two years my grandad is getting married again =O. I really cannot get along with his new 'wife' because I don't want to as I dont think them getting married is right and it is disrespectful.

Should I move to my aunts or stay with my grandad? I do love him it is just he hasn't taken my feelings into consideration. I'm glad he is happy but I think they could just go out and not get married. Sorry if anybody thinks I am being mean. Thank you for any advice x

A reader, anonymous, writes (8 January 2006):

Look at it from his point of view, dear. He loved your grandmother, they likely had a strong, devoted marriage. Suddenly, he doesn't have that. It's been 2 long years, and it's likley been difficult for him to adjust to being alone. People who were happily married for many, many years, suffer a great deal. They lost a partner, a best friend and confidant. Remarriage can relieve these problems and, in some cases, ease the grief. Be happy for Grandad..let him know you are behind him all the way and show respect for his new wife. Her love and devotion is giving him a new lease on life. Grandad will never forget Grandma..she will always have a place in his heart. He's just made the healthy, happy choice to move forward and find someone to share his remaining "golden years" with. Right on, Grandad. The transition for him and yourself will involves patience, commitment, and of course, love.
