 Maybe you didn't realise that you liked her until she was taken, or you only want her because you can't have her. Either way, don't do anything, if he really is your friend and you're willing to risk it, then do nothing. If they break up and you still like her, ask your friend (and tell him to tell the truth) if it would be ok for you to ask her out.

reader, anonymous, writes (12 November 2008): I answered a similar question earlier. Don't interfere with the relationship as it could ruin your friendship with both of them. You will probably move on and find someone new, but if not, teenage relationships don't often last very long so your chance will come.
