The fertilty doctor has said that hie sperm count has improved since his last sample and has asked the question why, she asked if he had taken any anobolic steriods in the past, he said he had but has not taken them for quite a while now.She said she thought he had as his count had gone from 1.2 million to 7.8 million in a short time. Does anyone know if after taking these steriods can your sperm count return to normal and you are able to father a child, our doctor has offered us ivf but we would find it hard to fund this treatment. I would be so gratful for any advice.

Hi im very new to this site and only joined after reading your post. The reason for that is it sound identical to my situation. My partner and i have been trying for over a year and not getting anywhere. We have now been referred to a specialist. My tests are fine show im very healthy. But my partner has shown low sperm count. First was 1.2 million the secondshowed 7.8 million. Again the doctor confirmed he was taking steriods a while ago. she told us he could father children but could take yesrs for sll steriods to vome out his system and yje best option would be ivf. We get the first one free. But she is sending us for councelling one session then we can go ahead with the treatment. Its just so heartbreaking xx
