How do you learn to notice guys when they are checking you out? And what should you do when they make eye contact?

I want to learn how to see guys checking me out or looking at me and how to handle it. When I was a teen, i wasnt really considered an attractive girl. Or at least i wasnt doing anything to look pretty. I had guy friends but didnt have a bf until much later in life when guys werent just all about the pretty, popular girls. Over the years i started making myself look better and today guys often check me out and make eye contact when we cross path on a sidewalk. The bfs ive had in the last few years all told that Im really hot, even sometimes the hottest gf they've had which of course always surprises me. My bf often tells me about guys who were looking at me and i never ever seem to notice. He even tells me about girls looking at me. He seems to have a radar while i never have a clue. Must be from all these years, im just tuning it out. But my bfs always been a hot guys so he knows. I want to know how to notice these things. And also what you are supposed to do when a guy makes eye contact. I always look away immediately and pretend i dont care or didnt notice but i think it's a little silly because i want to know that someone was checking me out. I feel stupid asking about this but iam like a novice in being pretty.
