How do you gracefully quit a job?

Question - (18 January 2012) 1 Answers - (Newest, 19 January 2012)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I got a 2 day bar job, via a friend who recommended me, but have since got a 20 hour a week day job. I've only worked at the pub once, but I don't like it at all.

It's a 20 minute drive away, but I go that town quite regularly. How can I quit without things being left awkward, as I go into that pub fairly often with the friend who recommended me?

I start my day job on Monday, so could work the pub tonight and Saturday, should I mention that?

Please help me, I've never quit a job and don't know what to say!

Be honourable. Walk in, tell your boss that you're grateful that he's given you the job, but that you've found one that better meets your needs. Doing it face-to-face gives you a ton of credit.
