Theres this guy i really like and have liked for ages, everyone knows i fancy him. I don't know if its because he hasn't done anything about it but i've recently gone off him. How can i get out of it and find a way so people won't still think i fancy him, i think he still thinks i like him!

A female reader, anonymous, writes (15 March 2006):

Stop showing much interest in him. Don't talk about him, don't sit with him, don't watch him in the halls.

If possible, find a new boy to start spending lots of time around. It doesn't have to be something romantic - just a new friend. Soon, people will have moved on to new gossip

Hopeful agony auntJust be yourself and be friendly. If he approaches you, you're not interested, if friends ask you about him, you're not interested.

If he hasn't done anything he's probably not interested anyway so I wouldn't worry to much.

Just be like you are with other plantonic friends. Don't be mean or rude whatever you do, just be normal and yourself.

I wouldn't worry if people know you liked him or he knows, just put it behind you and enjoy being a mate but nothing else.
