 Get out there and meet people, ideally through friends. If you meet a girl through work, or through a hobby like kick boxing, dance classes, etc. get to know her. Look for friendship rather than a relationship, and love will come to you!
If you rush into a relationship, girls will be scared off, and you won't have had time to really get to know them.
Remember that your wife should be your best friend, so talk to girls, find out what makes them tick, their hopes and dreams... Be a nice guy and you should find a lady!
Are you involved with the indian community in your area?
You might find it easier to meet nice girls you can relate to by going to religious gatherings, parties of friends, etc.

 Unfourtunately you can't find a good girlfriend just like that, base it on qualities you would like to find in a girlfriend. You could try finding some social activities around your area that will then assure you that if you meet a girl there she will have the same interests as you which would make you more compatible.
You don't always have to rush into romance at the start of relationships, make friends and then work your way up.
