How do I deal with petty behaviour from others ?

Question - (13 April 2007) 1 Answers - (Newest, 13 April 2007)
A male New Zealand age 41-50, *onfusedsoul writes:

I have noted a typical dominating and insulting behavior from some male members of my society like they ask me a question or advice considering me to be knowing better about things than they do. Later when i do give them my advice, they sort of devalue it as inappropriate giving an impression that they always knew what was better for them. The question was just asked as a means of insulting me or proving me to be inferior to them. Moreover, even when someone from outside is talking to me and asking me something, they just blatantly interfere and answer on my behalf as if i was naive and they knew better. I feel pretty angry and devalued but haven't been able to raise my voice for the fear of the loosing respect. I need some advice on how do i deal with such petty behavior.
