I need help! Has any girls on here breakup with their boyfriends? If so, how did you deal with it? I'm thinking strongly of breaking off my year relationship with my bf. His attiude and behaviour has changed so much that I feel unappreciated and that he doesn't care. I feel like I'm going to die if I break it off but I need to. I shouldn't feel this way.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (5 March 2006):

You're right, you shouldn't have to feel this way. My advice would be to finish it with him, because although you say that you really don't want to break it up, he's not making you happy, and that's what boyfriends are supposed to do.

However, there is a way you can try and repair this broken relationship. That is by talking to him, that's the only way. Tell him what you have told DEAR CUPID in your question. If he doesn't listen and co-operate then maybe it's time to end this relationship.

If you do decide to finish it, then I'll know exactly how you feel. It's really hard. You feel like you don't want to go out anywhere because you feel like it will be boring and lonely without him. This feeling will fade in time, so it's really just another excuse to out clubbing with your girl friends! You'll find another boyfriend in time.

Good luck.
