reader, anonymous, writes (8 October 2008): Aww this is cute! Reminds me of a time when I was in a similar kind of limbo with my a guy, who by the way is now my husband. I didn't know this until many years later, but he arranged for a friend of his to casually ask the two of us if we were dating. When the guy popped the question he looked at me and said "I guess that's up to her..." And that's how we got our start. Maybe you could try something like that. It may be awkward but not nearly as awkward as living in relationship lingo and not really knowing where you stand with each other. Good luck with that!
