A female United Kingdom age 26-29, anonymous writes:

Just over a year ago, I went out with my best mate (lets call him Jim) for a month after liking him for a long time, but literally nothing happened. After we broke up, we drifted apart for a while but recently we've come closer again. I now like this other guy (let's call him Matt) but not long before, I thought I started liking Jim again, but that soon passed.

The other day, a group of my mates, including Jim, met up and we had a group photo together. I was stood next to him and we all put arms round each others shoulders. When he put his arm around me, I started thinking back to when we went out and wished i had tried to make it work. When we left, we all hugged each other goodbye. When he hugged me, it made me regretful that it hadn't worked before and made me want a second chance. I also realized that I dont think I'll ever be completely over him, at least not for a while. Thinking back, i think its always been at the back of my mind, and when ever one of my other friends gave him a friendly hug, i remember feeling envious, though not realising at the time. the trouble is, he's now confused about his sexuality and may be gay.

I dont think I could tell him as something similar has caused trouble with our friendship in the past. I really like Matt, but whenever I start thinking about Jim like that, it's like Matt has been pushed from my mind.

I dont know what to do about it. Any suggestions??

I honestly think you know too little about love, relationships or men. You should really just be focussing on your books or something! 13-15... hugs.. 1 month going out (going out where?? Who allows 13 yr olds into anywhere these days?). Give yourself time to grow up girl. The Matts and Jims of this world will be around till the end of time!
