Morninging All,

just a quick question. Does anyone ever have that horrible feeling where you think something bads going to happen that makes you feel on edge? Over the past few months i kep feeling like this on and off and the only way to describe it is that theres a huge cloud over me,following me and i cant see the light. My mind races and i feel emotional.

In the past i have suffered with anxiety which i was on antidepressants for but am no longer. Is this connected?

I dont want to bother my doctor with it just yet-unless its gets worse then i will.

Any advice or anyone felt this before?

You don't always need to run to medication to fix these sorts of problems.

Having suffered from depression & anxiety for years I have found that regular meditation, exercise and a good diet works wonders. Avoid caffeine and alcohol at all costs - these are guaranteed to bring you down.

You can find lots and lots of self help programs online in the form of ebooks and audio tapes which can give you guidance on how to work you way out of any negative space you are in. And there are many guides on meditation to help your mind relax and stop those thoughts from racing round your head!

In the past I found the BBC Health website to be very useful. They have a wealth of information and guidance on how to come out of your negative emotions.

Also, take advantage of the UK's beautiful health care system. Your doctor can arrange for you to see an excellent counselor who will help you through any problems you are facing and, if necessary, may prescribe medication if your symptoms become very severe.

It sounds like you are experiencing mild symptoms at the moment... This is normal and many, many people (including myself) feel like this on a regular basis. I hope some of this helps!

rcn agony auntI want you to talk to your doctor. How long did it take you to stop taking your meds, or did you just one day stop? Anti-depressants need to be slowly stopped, if not can cause depression and other affect changes. I wouldn't wait until it worsens seeing how it's gone on for the period it has.
