 He might just be nervous. He also might want you to initialize conversation because he is afraid of saying something stupid or he just cannot think of a good topic or conversation starter. Give it some time. Keep talking to him.

 u shuld wait it out, considering the fact that u like this person, it seems to me u shuld wait and if he still doesn't it could be a sign of nervousness...u won't lose him if u give him time...
