A female Australia age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Things with my bf are a bit up and down at moment and I have met a guy at work who is genuinely interested in me. He asked me out on a date and I obviously rejected due to my bf. But now I can't stop thinking about him. I am trying to convince myself I am just thinking like this because I just like the attention and ego-boost. What do you guys think?

A male reader, The Realist Canada +, writes (20 January 2011):

The Realist agony auntIt could just be a good feeling to know that others are paying attention to you but it could also be a little bit of an oppertunity to get out of something bad into something that you see as being better. I know it's not ideal for you to do this but it should help. Take some time to think about leaving your bf for this guy and see if the problams are worth taking the chance with someone new.

I found that most people break up with someone that they know they should only when the have someone else in the picture as to not be alone all at once.
