 Are you sure your best friend is not interested in him too? There could be a conflict of interest if your best friend has latent interest in the same guy. I am assuming that your best friend here is a girl.
Unless you are very sure that your best friend has no interest in him, then share your secret with her.
It is better if you can keep this secret to yourself and do not let anyone know because people can use that info against you in the future.

 I would show him your not shy or afraid of his reaction . make sure he knows ur name tho'lol. just kiddin' go for it. ask him out., but really whats the point of having a boyfriend ? I know someone to kiss and hug and such, but right now i would keep mind on school, on your future what you would like to pursue as a carreer. but yea why not have fun at the same time. but keep in mind you can have fun but please be safe.
