Hi!!! I have a little doubt, its about pubic hair, I'm 15 years old and my vaginal area is really really hairy, would that be a turn off for guys??? Should I shave it, trim it, or leave it like it is?

PD: I'm blonde but my pubic hair is dark brown.

Just trim the bikini line. If you have pubic hair, then your not a little girl so why shave it all off to look like one?

A male reader, Tomas United States +, writes (3 March 2009):

In case you decide to shave, a word of advice. My partner tried waxing, which she did not enjoy but loved the results, so then she tried shaving.

Perhaps girls don't normally shave hair that grows as thick and bushy as pubic hair, but guys' beards are similar. And she nicked and cut herself enough times that now I do it for her (which we both enjoy).

To wit:

1) Long hot bath first. Softens the hair.

2) Scissors to trim back the hair, just for shortening, where you plan to shave.

3) Bowl or running stream of hot water.

4) Good (metal) razor with at least 2 (3 is better) new blades.

5) Shaving cream or gel.

6) Mirror (or friendly partner)

Trim with clippers or scissors.

Repeat the following:

a) Lather hair with shaving cream/gel (not needed every stroke)

b) One stroke of razor, in the direction the hair grows. Razor will be full of hair.

c) Rinse razor and ensure no hair on it (can rub in direction of blades to avoid cut and free hairs)

d) Repeat in one spot until hair is gone, which may take a half-dozen strokes, depending on initial hair length.

Fight any urge to do a half-dozen strokes with the razor. It won't cut you unless you try shaving with hairs in the blades. But by golly it will cut you if you do.

Two minutes in you will realize, this could take the better part of an hour! Yep. But you (and he) will enjoy it more if you don't have a sensitive cut where you are already sensitive.

Oh and as to whether to shave or not, I think it is nice to try and see what you like (my partner prefers shaved but not enough to do it regularly). But as you like your natural look, and it is a heck of a lot easier to shave later than to grow everything back out, I would suggest leaving it for now. Either look is very sexy.

A reader, anonymous, writes (3 March 2009):

Do what you want to do. It's a huge hassle to wax it all off, and there are problems with ingrown hairs, permanently damaging the hair follicle etc. Keep it neat and hygienic, and you really should have nothing to worry about.

It's all a matter of personal taste - but what you want counts first.

Since you asked, I think au naturel is a complete turn on. I don't think that's the way society is right now, but it's my strong preference. :)

Thank you for your recommendations, but I already have a guy, but we are preparing ourselves to have sex, that's why I'm asking if is a turn off or not, but I find it a turn on, in fact I can't see my hair without masturbating, is that weird?

I think you should do what YOU want to do - it's you're body. Most salons offer waxing and triming services for those private areas, perhaps you could consult with a professional. There is no right or wgonr answer for this question, which is why I suggest that you do what makes you feel the most comfortable.

Kitty Thunder agony auntHmm, I shave mine but only because it makes it hard for me and my boyfriend to do some of the stuff we do. Lol. He says otherwise he wouldn't care, and from what I've heard most guys don't care. So it's up to you, really.

(Btw first time I did it it burned like crazy, after that it never bothered it)

A reader, anonymous, writes (2 March 2009):

I may only be 14 but I have the same problem. If you don't like the hair shave it off. I do. Just be careful and don't cut yourself that would really hurt. You should also know that if you shave it and it's growing back, if something rubs against it agaist the grain it hurts a little. But if shaving it will make you more confident around the guys (sounds strange but it does for me) then the answer is to shave! :)

Until you find a guy that prefers that you shave it or trim it or leave it bushy, just leave it.
