My parents want me to stay away from him after his drunken outburst, but he wants us to get back together! I really don't know what to do...

hi! i'll try 2 keep this as short as i can, i've been seeing a guy for about a year and a half now were not anything official but we dont see other people sounds complicated i know! anyways we have been finished a while but last night we had a drunk row, and with temper he hit a wall and broke his hand, of course i had 2 explain 2 my parents why i was upset and my mom wants me to stay away from him now, he's has apologised and wants to get back together but i really am upset over the whole situation and dont know what to do, any advice would be really appriciated.
