Question - (16 June 2012) 2 Answers - (Newest, 17 June 2012)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My friend "peter" who is 26, shy with women and me (22)got to know eachother through a social networking site, gradually i did have a small crush on him but he stated he was just flirting he did not feel the same way.

In that time i use to speak to his cousin in a friendly nice way. (Darren).

Darren is more forward, fancy's me so we started texting etc.

I told peter i like some one, peter stopped messaging me, first time ever was distant, aggressive and suspicious about whether this guy was his cousin. But he re-stated he never had those feelings for me.

YET when yesterday both them were texting, one as a mate other slightly flirty.I found out that Peter was actually going through Darren's phone, questioning who he was texting, staring at him when he was msging some one.

I'm confused is he being over protective or does he like me? if he does then why reject me?

(OP) yeah peter is the shy guy . but now:

his cousin has said we should just be mates, i can't blame him it is to much head ache, he even said peter doesnt like me texting you.

peter himself is now ignoring me, i asked him straight up again if he likes me and about his actions, he denied it all.

i was so angry and hurt!

BondGirl72 agony auntPeter...is this shy guy #1? If so, I would say Peter does not really know his own mind or what he really wants. Or, he is too immature to take the risk to say what he really wants. You don't really flirt with people unless you like them or are interested. So, I believe he was lying when he said he wasn't into you. Now that you're interested in someone else, he's ticked. Too bad for him. You go with the guy who is honest with you about how he feels.
