reader, anonymous, writes (1 December 2009): i dont see the problem here. its not illegal as far as i know, and if you are in a committed relationship with him thats all she needs to know. she will figure out the rest. when she asks just say, "bob" and i are in love. i have many friends who are products of or are in a relationship with a cousin. as a matter of fact my husband and i are 4th cousins..which isnt that close but it never bothered me at all. i had an aunt who pitched a fit and i just laughed. have a dear friend who married her first cousin and didnt even have to change her name. my brothers wifes parents are first cousins. she is a lovely sweet and smart woman. the laws may vary in different areas but dont make this a big issue until the day come to deal with it,. if you dont make it a big deal, then neither will she. good luck, mal
