In June (2007) I got my belly-button pierced. It is now September and it's still red around the piercing and is still sore if I bump it accidentally (which I do all too often). It's not bleeding, or oozing, but every couple of days there's a little bit of dried skin around it, which I peel off and clean thoroughly. I am still cleaning it daily but I thought it would be healed by now. Is this normal for a piercing in this area?

YummyMummy agony auntIf you are really worried see the person that did the piercing for you. It sounds ok to me. I tried 3 times to have my belly button pierced in my teens. It went black within the first month each time and I took the piercing straight out. It sounds like its still healing to me but if you are still worried get it checked just to put your mind at rest.

sexi agony auntHi

I had my belly button pierced about 2 years ago and it healed withing 2 months. You should clean your belly button with cotton wool and salt water, that really helps, it worked for me

Good Luck

hi it takes at least six months for your belly button to heal , me being a gay of the 90s lol had it dobe six months of goo and horrible stuff . salt water and jeans that dont cause friction to your belly button , even a little lavender oil or tea tree diluted will help ..xxx jaime

flower girl agony auntIt might well be your body rejecting the piercing, i remember when i had mine done it was the same and i carried on with the cleaning of it and then one night about five months after i took it out to give it a good clean, and i swear to god it closed up within ten mins so i gave up and now i hate the scar left there.

Take care.xx.

superbunny agony auntI got my belly done the exact same month you did + yeah, mine still does that. The healing time varies on different people - you've just got to be paitent. :] Hope that's helped! x
