If sex means penetration of penis with hand,with mouth, vagina, and anus- then higher meaning of sex is ignored or evaded. In humanity meaning of sex is not this much lower. By lower it mean animalistic, or lower than animal. In a sense that animal is not sharing some meaning as, pornographic pleasure or prostituted pleasure.

Higher meaning means 'intellectual meaning.' The divine aspect of sexuality is intellectual. It is so subtle that it cannot be grasp through our emotion. What one feel in sex cannot envision divine aspect. It it is so, then it would have been grasped by animal also.

Sex is usually considered as penetration of the penis into the vagina by most (don't it sound romantic?)

Personally I consider myself to have had sex if I have engaged in any naked activity with someone that resulted in an orgasm for one or both persons (or could have resulted in one if kept up for long enough)

Just my own opinion
