I have to say that the earlier you get checked, the better. Don't wait for symptoms. If I've learned anything in sex-ed, it's that some symptoms are from diseases that can be fatal, or stick for life. After checking for std's, take precaution when trying something risky.

It's highly unlikely you'll get symptoms the day after. But if you're worried at all, go to the doctor.
