He means downloading...yes it is illegal, just like downloading music, "normal" films, I'm assuming that you do that too? Until iTunes do porn, it will always be illegal, we all do it, but there is always that tiny chance they will catch you.

Some people are idiots or they're too lazy to find the specific thing they like on the free sites. There's a free version of every subscription porn site available if you know where to look.
People pay for cam shows though, none of those are free and some guys/girls like to be able to interact with the other person.
