The reason I ask is because I am now in the very same position and very hurt that I didn't even get a thank you for my effort to wish him a happy birthday.
Please let me know what the outcome was. Did you ever hear back from him, are you still apart or back together. Your answers would mean a lot to me. thanks

Now if you did not have those feelings, then it would not bother you that he did not reply. I sent my ex a Happy belated birthday text and I don't care if he don't reply because my feelings for him are no longer there for me to want to start upsetting myself over. Trust and believe that he is probably still looking at that text and smiling to himself. Don't stress yourself out over it and move on with your life and he will be back but as long as you are stressing and getting angry over somthing like this he will continue to torture you by not contacting you.

Perhaps he is so incredibly pissed that your message and the 15 other happy birthday messages have been received and understood, but not replied to yet as that takes time and effort.
Stop stressing, he's your ex, you shouldn't be letting him churn you up this way.
Good Luck!! xx

He's your ex. Don't worry about it. He has probably moved on and so should you.
