A female reader, chachacha United Kingdom +, writes (1 March 2007):

I wouldn't want to go out with someone that had not had oral sex in their past (as it would probably indicate that they didn't like it) and I only kiss people I go out with, ergo, I would not kiss someone who had not had oral sex.

A reader, anonymous, writes (26 February 2007):

Well even if you were with someone who hadn't indulged in oral sex...the mouth in itself is one big collective germ.

Saliva produces enzymes in the mouth that kill off bacteria.

Good oral hygine coupled with good sexual hygine would be crucial for someone who is hesitant about kissing.

If you trust the one you are with and believe they are big on hygine and safety-very responsible-then kissing would be an act that enhances one's feelings for the other and is a great act of intimacy.

This comes down to personal choice. You get to decide what you are comfortable with.

Best Wishes.

A female reader, TasteofIndia United States +, writes (26 February 2007):

TasteofIndia agony auntYes, I certainly would. To me, th epast is the past. Now if the guy I was kissing had done oral sex with like, hundreds of people, I'd be a little wary. That's gross. But if it was just a few people, whatever. That's alright. Provided he brushes his teeth and all.

To me, a good man is hard to find. So what if he's got a little dirt in his past? I do too.
