writes:hey me again,i posted this question on the careers sister site, but it doesnt look like that one gets used very much, so ill post it here aswell,basically i work in a supermarket as a checkout operator, and most of my shifts are in the evening, 1 in the afternoon. they are: sun half 1-half 4, mon 4-half 7, tues 6-9, wed half 4-8, thur 4-half 7, fri nd sat off.basically because i work these hours most of the people i like to spend time with work with the school hours, or office hrs, which is 9-5, mon-fri, and i would like to change my hrs so that i work within the school/office hrs, something along the lines of 8-12 mon-fri, sat nd sun off, or 9-1 mon-fri, sat nd sun off.im not around on my days off as i spend time with my partner, but at least i would be able to spend evenings or even afternoons after work with friends.does anyone no if id b able 2 do this as i really want to, then i wud b alot happier and actually want to pick up extra shifts, as at the minute, its all the evening shifts tht need picking up, wen im always workin, so if friends are unavailable i can always pick up an extra shift, then b able 2 earn more money, nd eventually tht can lead 2 me bein able 2 treat myself or treat a friend 2 drink wen im old enuff 2 go out.sorry to make it long but help is urgently needed as i reli dont feel happy with my shifts as they are.

You have two options really, speak to your supervisor as Tisha-1 said or find a job that generally works around these hours.

You need to have a discussion with your supervisor about this; let him or her know that you've got some family obligations that need you at home.
