Will this pill have worked in time to keep me from becoming pregnant?

i was on the contreceptive injection and i came off it after being on it for about a year about 5months later i took the pill desogestrel (cerazette) it says on the packet, i took it before going to my boyfriends house about 18 hours before just the one, never taken it before. will it have worked in time i took it the day after too, we split up anyway and its about 2month later now and i havnt had a period. should i be worried, do you think theres a chance i could be pregnant.!?!? help!

k_c100 agony auntUnless you had taken the contraceptive pill (it doesnt matter which one - they all work in the same way just with different strengths of certain hormones) every day for a week before you had sex then yes there is a good chance you could be pregnant. You need to take the pill for 7 consecutive days in order to be protected, and even then some nurses and doc's will always tell you to take it for the full 21 days (as in use the whole packet) before you are completely protected.

So if you havent had a period for 2 months I think there is a chance you could be pregnant. Go to your local chemists and buy a pregnancy test - they are pretty accurate. If the result is positive then you need to make an appointment with your GP. Also if it is negative you should still see your GP because it is not normal to miss 2 periods in a row.

You could be, I know that it takes a month for Birth control to be effective. I read some information on this pill, it sounds really scary, I take Yaz. If I were you, I would make an appointment with my doctor.
