 There are two utterly diametrically opposed possibilities here:
1) He is homophobic and messing with you or
2) He is still very far in the closet and struggling with his own sexuality, making his confusion and self-hate come out on other gay males.
It definitely seems like the second, and if you are at all out he may be afraid to be associated and have to face what he truly feels (about men in general, not necessarily you). I would allow him plenty of space, and wait for him to either come back to you or one of you to move on.
