writes:I am living with boyfriends parents to save money for a house deposit. We should have it in about 6 months time! But it will realistically be a year before we actually move out.My boyfriend has always insisted that we do not get engaged whilst under his parents roof. However he must have been using my laptop recently because there are engagement ring searches on the history (I often go into my history to see which episode I last watched in whatever tv series). So silly for not covering his tracks!!Why do you think he is looking this up now?? He won't really need to save up well in advance (he has his own business and can just take the money out if he needs it!) I'm confused... I know he already got me an Xmas gift and we both have too many expenses this side of Xmas. So...

 He's thinking ahead. That's one step in his plans. He most likely has a dollar figure in his mind as to moving out, AND if he's smart, he'll be saving for the ring as well as the deposit.

 Maybe he was looking them up to see how much he needs to save? If the plan is to move out in a year and to NOT get engaged til AFTER you move out... It would make sense to start saving up now.
And I agree, you two should definitely move out of his parents place before spending money on a ring.
And IF he could "just" take money out for that expense, you two wouldn't be living with his parents... now would you?
