I had sex recently.. and it really hurt me. But it didn't bother me, as i have heard that it hurts most people to start with. But then last night, i had sex again.. and it really hurt me.. my boyfriend kept asking me if it was okay and all.. but i don't want to tell him it hurts? Why is it still hurting?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (6 January 2008):

The mind is a powerful thing. When you're penetrated, even though you may be TELLING yourself to relax, your mind still remembers that the first time was painful and your vaginal muscles immediately tense up as a protection mechanism.

Same thing's happened to me. You need to make sure you're relaxed, already aroused with foreplay, and maybe have a small glass of wine to relax you the next time you try. Be honest and open with your boyfriend, it's the secret to a great sex life :)

Abacadaba agony auntFirst mistake, you didnt tell your boyfriend it was hurting, meaning he wouldnt have worried as much about being gentle. You gotta remember that after the first time its not gonna be plain sailing, youve still got to get used to it. To help everything get more relaxed make sure you get really turned on before trying it, do some foreplay, make each other to the point where you just wanna get down and do it, use lube if you need to. Remember your trying to put something into somewhere which isnt used to it, your body needs to ajust :P, just give it time and pay attention to detail until your comfortable will full penetration.
