Hi All

I'm slightly a bit worried and wondered if you think this is normal and could you give me some advice.

I'm 18 weeks pregnant with my first, for weeks i felt small little flutters every day, but for the past 5 days there has been no flutters, is this normal? and should i be worried.

I haven't felt big movements yet as I'm just about 18 weeks but i wondered why the flutters have stopped? maybe I'm just worried over nothing. What do you think?

Ravenxx91 agony auntHi I'm a student midwife. First of all I would call your midwife. Her number should be in your pregnancy pack.

If you are in any pain in your abdominal area then go to your local walk in centre, or ask to see your midwife. You can also ask for a reassurance scan if you are really worried. If you see your midwife she will allow you to listen to your baby's heart beat.

In mot cases, your baby is probably having a lazy few days or has settled backwards which means instea of being near your front the baby is close to the spine and there is generally less feeling then. Im sure everything is fine, many pregnant women go through this panic.

Email me on here if you have any more concerns

check with your doctor/midwife but try not to worry - baby can be a little unpredictable sometimes and if you have not felt anything then it could be nothing. Or it could be something serious. But before getting yourself worked up, do seek medical advice. I'm 7 months gone and my baby will kick up a fuss for weeks then go quite for a few days ... personally i think he has tired himself out so needs quiet time inbetween activity. :)

you should see a doctor. It could be nothing but it could be serious. We arent medical professionals, but you need to see a doctor pronto. hugs, mal
